Our President, dressed for a Roaring Twenties Presentation, points to the rot along the ground edge of the 115 year old Schmidt House Barn. Standing on the corner of 5th and J Streets, the Schmidt House is one of the remaining homes from more than a century ago. Today, however, it is no longer a home to the Schmidt family but benefits the community as a museum. These buildings, both over 115 years of age, need constant upkeep. We must preserve these buildings and tell the story of the Schmidt family as they were a founding family of Grants Pass and their story is an example of the many families who contributed to the development of the Grants Pass community.
